i am new to the thread so don't laugh to hard at what i know about the escort, because i don't know anything. i am getting a 90 escort s door auto for free tomorrow. so i figured i would check out what they have for them and what you can do with them. i own to "performance" cars already so im not expecting much out of this thing but i do expect it to be fun. so when i find out wich engine it has i will let you all know and then you can bombard me with your knowledge. thanks for listening to my ranting ill be back later
I would say it's a 5 door...or 4door hatch...welcome to the board...let us know more about the car when ya get it...the first gens take a little more looking to find performance parts esp for an lx, but I know there are some other first gen owners here that will be able to help you out
Your 1st gen has a Cosworth 1.9 engine and I tried to find performance parts for my '89 LX. Their are high performance parts but they're over seas in the UK. You can get a turbo or superchargers and AWD transmission, but the trans. is going cost $2000 not including shipping and handling.
i meant to say its a 2 door hatchback. the car only needs a rear wheel bearing to be drivable everyday, and i got it for free. i love that sound, free. anyways.
they sell an awd system for this car..... you have to be kidding me. that is sweet has anyone on this site done it yet?
ok so i took the car today. ya its alot slower than i thought. it has the 1.9 efi motor in it. i think its slow cause the old guy that owned it before me never hit the gas in it. so im gonna get some sea foam and run it through the car and then see where i am at. any other suggestions? do they sell nawwwsssss...... j/k im not a f&f type honda person
Have you ever heard of the Sierra RS Cosworth, RS500, XR3i, or the RS Turbo? They are all Escorts and they run 1.6, 1.9 Cosworth engines, and in come standard with AWD. /|\
