Newbie/Intro/93 Escort wagon

Hello..my name is Arnold. From S.Ontario,Canada.I recently purchased a 93 Escort Wagon.I will probablly do all my own service/repairs.
Is there anything I should watch out for?Weak points?(Breakdown/repair/service)
Any particularlly critical/sensitive service/maintenance..do's/don'ts?

Welcome newcomer I heard some worse case scenerio but they happen that often so some common disappointments are rear strut problems, trans. shifting(AT), CV joints, trans. filters, 5th door lift arms (wagon), countless fuel filters, and seat belt malfunction. I hope I didn't scare you. In over words you should get yourself a 94 LX sedan w/ a notch-back.
