confused Please can you help?

Hi all, First things first... This is the first time I've used a forum so I hope I don't screw it up? I've bought a 1990 Sierra 2 Litre DOHC, which is fine most of the time! But when it gets damp or wet it wont idle, It just dies as soon as the clutch is pressed or taken off load !! It restarts straight away and as long as throttle is used it's ok. Also it develops a misfire and wont pull. I'm sure this is electrical- I've changed all the usuall things, plugs, rotor arm, dizzy cap, H T leads, coil etc,etc...Still no cure..When it's dry no problem. Is this a common fault or have I just bought a Lemon!! I would be grateful for any ideas ? Thanks for your time..

Hi BEEKER357 and welcome.

As this is the first time you have used a forum then you have done well.
If you have any queries about the forum then just ask. If you want to ask or say something in private to someone then you will notice under the usernames the [PM] or [email]. If you click on one of those then you can communicate to that person via Private Message or Email. PM is quite commonly used if you don't want the whole world to hear it.

I don't think you have brought a lemon and I feel you are right that something electrical is getting damp but most of the common things have already been replaced it seems. I would have blamed the HT leads but you've been there.

How damp are we talking.

I had a similar problem with a mk3 XR3i escort, just gave the fuel metering head a bit of a tap with a screwdriver/wrench which sorted it out. Ran sweet as after that.
