Problems when braking. - Ford Forums

Hello,
I'm trying to get info. on a problem I'm experiencing on a 2002 Ford Escort zx2. When I'm applying brake pressure and stopping there is a rumble and learching/pulsing going on pretty badly, front I believe, maybe front right, there is even noise associated with it. I've check everything up front/ brakes ect. and fixed a problem with loose pins on the calipers. Brakes are fine, pads, ect. and it's still doing this. it's effecting my stopping and I'm affraid it may not pass inspection with this going on.

please if anyone has any suggestions, please help.

Sounds like the front discs may be warped, and yes if bad enough would be an MOT fail (UK)

Yeah funny, cause I'm starting to think that too ...how would this happen? I can say that one of the pins in the caliper that i replaced, had came out and hit the rim, bent over and was grinding like crazy on the rims and such, I didn't think it hurt anything, cept leaving a huge gash around the inside of the rim. think this could have caused it ? anyway , how would I know if it's warped when I take it off and look?

It's not visible to the naked eye, so you can either throw a set of brake discs at it or get them checked with a dial gauge; I'd also have the hub run-out checked at the same time.

thanks bro. for the info, I'm def. just gonna get everything replaced just to be sure, it's also a high-mileage vehicle, but runs great other wise, so might as well, get it fixed.
