R.i.p '91 Egt

So my scort is done. I wanted to rebuild, and while doing it use my step-brother's '89 ranger (which he rebuilt) as my DD and buy it off of him. Well, the one thing he didn't rebuild, the transmission, crapped out. The truck still has a rebuilt engine and is pretty nice, but just not worth the cost of the transmission being replaced immediately. I needed a working car ASAP because the EGT needed some serious front end work. Well, I parked the ranger and went to a dealer. The engine still ran GREAT, but the C/V joints, tie rods, half axles, front callipers, front wheel bearings, springs & misc. other suspension parts were shot. Ive been going real easy on the EGT and depressing the clutch on all turns to save the almost dead C/V joints, but in their test drive they drove her hard and vitrually assured the death of it. I had to take it home and back to the dealer one more time, and after what they did to it, I barely made it back to the dealer. I negotiated $1000.00 as a trade-in, which is nice considering I had paid $1000.00 for it 3 years prior. I am hoping some wholesaler picks it up cheap, throws in a few bucks to fix her up nice and someone else can enjoy the fun of driving that car. Now I'm off to Nissan Sentra land, but I'll check back here from time to time as my many years of owning several EGTs leaves me with many pieces of advice for repairs and problems.
