'94 Ford Escort 1.9

So our radiator sprung a leak and we replaced that only to find out that the radiator fan wasn't turning on unless the AC was being ran.

We had the same problem with the Taurus and it was The Constant Control Relay however we think that The Radiator Cooling Fan Motor relay is the equivalent. We replaced this and the Temp Switch Sensor. We know the fan itself works. Any other ideas? maybe a diagram of the relays and the sensors on this type of vehicle someone could provide please :)

It is a 2 speed fan, so maybe the low speed circuit has a problem. If you ground the wire at the sensor, does the fan come on?

Thank you guys for both you're links they really help alot. I will get back to you guys later tonight Hubby has the car at work and I can't check right now. As soon as we find the problem I will post it so others can use it as reference :) Otherwise if we can't find the problem I know they sell a cooling fan controller bypass kit but I'm sure it has to do with one of these relays it's only common sense lol. Thanks Guys :D

Ok so I called Orielys and they told me there was no such thing but then gave me a name of "Blower Motor Resistor" Is this the same thing as what Bert is talking about?
A blower motor resistor is the device by which a car's heating and air conditioning unit controls the fan speeds. There are two different types--the resistor wire type that uses a different size coil of wire for each fan speed with different resistances and the printed circuit board with a fully integrated circuit. Both units are located in the same location, which is in the immediate proximity of the blower motor. They are always a small unit, usually 2 inches by 3 inches. The first unit, which is the series of different size coils, is mounted on a small flat non-conductive plate and the second has a circuit board on a plastic base plate.

I do know we've had experience where everyone keeps saying you should bring the car in why on earth would we do that if we can fix it ourselves makes no sense. If this isn't the same part then I will wait and have hubby use the diagram provided and have him trace everything seems like the easiest route.

Wrong part . That is ballast resistor for heater fan motor .
