Rough idle

Hey guys, hope you can help. I just got a great deal on a `01 zx2, auto transmission, that seems to idle way too rough. Especially, when I shift into reverse or drive. It seems to be better in park or neutral. When in drive or reverse it initially goes to about 1200 rpm's then after a couple seconds goes back to 900 rpm's and the car starts shaking. Turn on the a/c and the car feels like it`s going to vibrate apart!!! Rpm goes up initially then goes back to 900rpm. Car has never stalled, but feels like it could. Car has 40,00 miles. The air cleaner was just replaced, the plugs look good and I reset the computer. I'm trying to find the IAC valve but am unsuccessful. I figure it might need cleaning. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

Sounds like regulator problems for some reason that not sound right at all especially a ZX2. It doesn't sound like something that a can of C-foam will cover or carb cleaner. The IAC valve is very hard to find, might have to take it to your most trusting mechanic if have already bought it or if haven't then him look at it anyway.
