rs2000 mods

I have just bought my first real RS2000 and was wondering what the best mods eg wheels, lowering, carby I should get to start with. I only have around $1000 to start with

Well that all depends on want you want from your car,What has your car got on it already,its hard to find an RS escort not modified in some way these days.
As for performance the standard carby 32/36 weber is a good all round carb, it can be rejetted for more performance,with that done fit a fast road cam, and a good set of tuned extractors and a 2.25" exhaust , if it hasnt allready got it get electronic ignition Im asuming its an 1980 RS2000 so twin webers will be out of the question,but they a a little thursty with twins as a road car anyway.
I think this will get you to your $1000 limit and enjoy that for a while.

As for wheels skys the limit,I would get them before you lower it as you will run out of space under them gaurds quickly and will require to be rolled with anything bigger than 15" x 50 series tyres.Having said that you can get 17"s under them with a bit of manipulation.

80rs, can you list as to what it has already had done to it and a few general details about the car? (Colour, 4dr/2dr, plans...)
