I Have A 2000 Ford Escort And It's Stuck In Park... Do Any One Have Any Ideas On How To Get It Out Of Park It's Like It's Locked Or Something The Break Lights Come On And You Can Hear The Breaks Engage When You Press The Down...

Pop the small cover off that is beside the gear shift. If I remember right, you just push down with a small screwdriver and it will come out of park.

There is a Small Hole on the cover near the Shift Lever...and you obsolete correct if you insert a very small screwdriver, or a small punch..it should disengaged the Shift lever.

This release switch is activated from the Brake Switch...The Shift Release switch may need to be replace soon..

Tip: If you know what you are looking for...you can disable it.

Check and see if you have brake lights. If not check fuses.
