Throbbing engine noise
Hi there,
I've had a search through some posts to find answers to my problem, but here goes.
I have a Ford Escort GTI 1.8 Zetec (R-Reg) - mileage around 134,000
Recently had problems with overheating that was tracked down to faulty thermostat that meant that fan was not coming on to cool engine.
Since then, the car still seems to run warm, although it doesn't go close to the red, but after only 10 minutes of driving the temp guage is about 70% to 80% up.
Also, I have noticed a sort of 'throbbing' noise or 'pulsing' noise coming from the engine (seems to be more on passenger side (left). The noise at certain revs can sound quite load (from inside the car) - almost drowns out radio.
At other revs the noise almost seems to go away. Seems loadest at between 2500 to 3000 revs.
Does anyone have any ideas on where I should start looking ?
Thanks
