unusual transmission sound... - Ford Forums

hi...

my 91 escort with a 1.9 and automatic is making a "whirring" sound that goes up and down with the engine rpm's but only happens when in gear...any input as to what that might be? sounds like a noise belt or open service cover...

i appreciate any input you have...thanks!!!

check transmission oil level, if level ok (check level with engine running) get box checked for a service maybe noisy pump or blocked filter
