Ok, on most cars there are these little black things on the frint side of the windows. They're small and kind of pyramid shaped. I've always wondered what these were, and my driver side thing fell off, so I was wondering why I even need it. Is this supposed to diflect air or rain or something? It seems kind of small for that.
I thought they were supposed help out with the defroster as if they give off a lot heat. One of reason why it works so fast but that's my opinion. It could be useful for something else.
The thins on the outside? I cant imagine how they help defrost anything. Theyre plastic or rubber, about the size of my thumbnail, and they just clip in to the rubber lining that holds the window snug.
oh, those little tab thingies. Yeah they are to made to install a new windshield easier and to make a tight fit it stays in, but wouldn't you think they would be on the inside too?

windshield??? the ones I believe are being referred to are the ones on the door windows....
Yep, and I'm sorry for not being clearer. I mean the ones on the roll up door windows. A lot of older cars don't have them, but seemingly every newer car does. I've always been curious about this, and when one of mine fell off, I thought of asking. 93, do you have any idea?
the only guess I have off hand is that it's for proper window alignment or maybe for a wind noise break....also I do notice that when I use my washers while driving the water seems to mostly hit that and not come around into the car...
Maybe, but I doubt it. They dont seem to really be connecting to anything. They just seem to be there. I bet its a wind/water related thing... strategically placed because of wind tunnel tests or whatnot.
