i currently run a 2litre in my 79 escort.

it has a single carbie and mild cam.

wanted to know if the price of twin carbies and a bigger cam would be worth the money for the extra performance.

i have been quoted about 900 for twin carbies and cam and fully tuned

any feed back would be good

is that twin side draughts and cam, installed and tuned for 900????

if you got the twin barrel webber that comes with the stock 2 litre, could just put bigger jets in and she should be pretty sweet, along with the cam(as long as its in time and tuned properly) youll be pretty happy with the results. but while your doing the cam, might as well do the valves, port/polish the head etc, then you should relly be satisfied

btw might want to put in a zorst as well, just to help it along.

figures wouldnt be all the impressive on da dyno, but you have to remember how light the eskis are

yeah i have got the twin barrel from the standard two liter and have jetted that.

already done head work and valves and things like that, running extractors and 2.5 inch exhaust.

was wondering if any one was running twin side drafties and if it was daily driveable.

well a cam will be benifitial, but if you wanted to make the sideys worthwhile, you might want to go for a pretty lumpy cam or else if you justwant something pretty mild the down draughts will be fine

having a cam aint too difficult on daily driving, got one in me eski and it aint that much harder, but then again i dont have any head work done, but i assume you should be right with daily driving.

umm if you want it still as a daily driver, best bet would be to gurbo it wouldnt it, but then again you upped the compression........hmmm hell with 102rwkw i would keep it like it is bro lol

well i wanted to stay away from turbo's so it doesn't burn out exhaust valves.

they whole aim of the project is to turn it in to a race car but i wanted to have all the motor and drive train sorted.

na when i got the car it was basically a rolling shell got it for 400 spent may more dollars on it since.

im planing on transplanting everything in to a 2dr sedan mrk1 or 2 cant make up my mind yet, and using it for club sprints and hillclimbs

btw just wondering, ballpark figure, how much you spend on the engine?

um its really a bit sacry wot i have spent on my car,
probbibly 4g's on the motor alone, but everything had to be perfect.
so the money has been spent every where diff and breaks were the next biggest things, broke 5 standard ones but putting bigger wheels on it to maintain some grip = way too much for the original diff.
