Question XE Falcon or 2lt Escort

Please Help Me decide!
Ive got the choice of having a XE falcon Or a 2ltr Escort.

The Escort is my previous car it has run out of rego & at the moment isnt runnin - it need new wiring & started motor (wich i have). The Motor has been replaced, with new head, exhaust, the gearbox has also been reco'd. its a 4speed manual

The XE was given to me by my dad, its also out of rego. the motor has a Cane head, extractors, good inlet manifold, holley carby. the car is Lowered, the paint & interior is Shit.

At the moment im leaning towards the ESKY, but only cause i know what is or isnt wrong with it.

Does anyone have any Advice or ideas as to which car i should choose???? cause it too hard

if you want cheap uncomfortable motoring ( lower fuel bill etc ) then go for the esky...if you are sick of the "teenager" cars and want a more comfortable ride...then go for the XE..I say comfortable ride but it depends how low the XE is I guess.
Paint and Interior is shit all to repair...how long has your dad had the car?
how many K's on the clock etc etc

Not sure about K's but dad's only had the car for a few months - he was going to use it himself but found a better XD so he gave the XE to me

If you only drive short distances and want economy.. go the Escort.
If you drive long distances and dont mind the extra fuel usage.. go the XE.

Both have their own inherit problems... but seeing as you already know abit about the Escort i'd be leaning towards that.

Is it at all possible to keep both ? :)

you are taking the piss, right? you cannot be serious when you made that statement.

if you are serious, try this for an exercise. go and look at the racing success of the Escort. then look at the racing success of the EA. then see which one has more credibility.

As a former Escort driver, Im with you on this one.

I would probably go the Esky, depending on what Mk it was.

Dunno why you are picking on the poor old EA when the guy is deciding on XE or esky.

If you are using that argument then maybe I should buy a VX Commo over an AU falc...pfft yeah right

For my 2c definitly go they esky, they are a heap of fun to drive and probably cheaper to run

rsgerry - 100% agree with you. Don't forget what the MK1 Escorts did to rallying! Hannu Mikkola and Ari Vartnen just to name a few champions that drove Escorts. Go the Esky anyday. XEs are nice but for economical driving and great handling go the esky!
