08 TX with clunk in front end
I have a 2008 Taurus X, it is a versitle and capable vehicle and I am happy with it overall. I have had a few minor problems with it, and the dealership is not very supportive. The alternator died at 6000 miles and had to be replaced. Then the Sync system was acting up, after visiting Syncmyride I found out that I just needed to pull a fuse and that took care of it (that was after the dealer looked at it and said it must be my jump drive) Recently on a 1000 mile road trip the rear passenger brake caliper was stuck and dragging. The dealer replaced this but not without making me jump through hoops. Question about that: is it bad to set the parking brake routinely? Should I have insisted that they also replace any other related brake parts?
Finally I am still dealing with an annoying clunk in the front end. It began at around 10,000 miles. It happens when I drive over bumps or dips - so every time I drive it. I have taken it to the dealer 3 times and they supposedly have replaced both sway bar end links, yet the problem persists. What else could it be? What would be a good thing to say to this dealer to get them to take my problem seriously? I don't like being rude, but this vehicle is too new to be clunking at me.
