My parents own an '06 Montego Premier, loaded, w/ the dual zone (I think) climate control. The car has less than 10,000 miles on it.

Recently, on an out of town trip, they experienced an A/C problem. The A/C quit working altogether, then came back on. When it came back on, there was some sort of awful fumes/eye & nose irritant coming from the vents into the cabin of the car. They both said it made their eyes water and burn, and made their sinuses burn as well. It wasn't a strong odor, as much as it was an irritant to the eyes & nose.

Dealer said they couldn't duplicate the problem (imagine that!)! Ford-Lincoln-Mercury "Customer Care Center" said there wasn't anything they could do.

Has anybody else had anything similar happen? Is this just a fluke incident?
