Ok I'm hoping anyone here can answer this question

I was perusing a Local Ford dealer yesterday and I came across a 2008 Mercury Sable.

I originally thought it was an American Import and traded in until I seen the instrument cluster.

The instrument cluster was Canadian (km/h) I cant figure out why this was built this way.

Mercury is not sold in Canada any longer (save the Grand Marquis) unless something has changed ??

It was probably imported through a government agency who canceled the deal after the vehicles were shipped. I've seen a few '08 Merc's around southern Ontario (Montego & Mariner). Grand Marquis are still sold through Ford dealerships as you mentioned, but they too will soon be put to pasture.
