Hi, I am new at this so just bear with me.

I got a ford 500 about 2 yrs ago, and its a gr8 car.

but lately the ac maks a "TACK TACK TACK TACK" Sound when ever i turn it on or off.

it cools fine when its on and i have no other problems with the car.

i gues does any one have a idea what that is?

that sound is usually ur blend door actuator.mine was sticking on my t-bird just like that for about a month before it fully went out.it got stuck on heat in the middle of summer.

Yes. Get the blend door sorted out. It's not an easy fix!

First, get a repair manual, such as Haynes or Chiltons. This will help guide you along. You're looking at a full days worth of work if you plan to do the repair yourself. The majority of the time will be taking apart the dashboard in order to get at the fan assembly and fix the door.

the dash will have to be removed or at least loose enough to pull forward about 8in to access the actuator.it took me six hours from start to finish.but i took little breaks alot cause of the frustration.
