Hello all, I am a long time Ford lover and driver right now I own a 1989 town car limo, 1991 escort, 2004 f-250, 2000 Taurus, 1976 bronco, 1970 bronco and a 1968 parts bronco. I know someone with a 500 equipped with the CVT, and I was wondering if this vehicle has any need for an additional transmission fluid cooler, the one on the taurus is very poor and adds to the already weak spot on the car. Thanks for any ideas or thoughts on the matter.

I wouldn't bother with a cooler with the CVT, as the CVT optimizes the rpm for best drive-ability. With a conventional transmission most people try to tow in OD, which overheats the transmission and wears out the clutches prematurely. Manufacturers started installing trans coolers in cars with conventional transmissions so they wouldn't have to replace them during the duration of that vehicles' warranty.
