I wouldn't bother with a cooler with the CVT, as the CVT optimizes the rpm for best drive-ability. With a conventional transmission most people try to tow in OD, which overheats the transmission and wears out the clutches prematurely. Manufacturers started installing trans coolers in cars with conventional transmissions so they wouldn't have to replace them during the duration of that vehicles' warranty.
