Foglights on with high beams

I put HID lights in my fog housings on my 08 Taurus (projector housings). They work well. Nice and white 5k. Much better than the halogens that were in there, however they go out when I turn the high beams on. This is obviously supposed to happen, but I don't want it to. Is there a way to make it so they stay on when I turn the high beams on? I know it isn't legal, but literally everyone does this where I live. In fact, what I want done is NOTHING compared to what I see on the road, and the police do not enforce anything regarding lights. So with that said, I tried taking the high beam output from the multi function switch, and running it with a diode to the fog light wire behind the headlight switch, and just ended up with a couple blown fuses erratic behavior, and a few other problems. Is there anyway to do this?
