Ford announces pricing for new Five Hundred, Freestyle and Montego

Ford Five Hundred
Prices for the 2005 Ford Five Hundred, a new mid-sized sedan, begin at $22,795 for a front-wheel-drive model, Ford Motor Co. said.
The all-wheel-drive Five Hundred starts at $24,495.
2005 Mercury Montego
The 2005 Mercury Montego, a sister to the Five Hundred, begins at $24,995 for a fwd model and $26,695 for an awd model. All prices include destination charges.
Ford began production of the Five Hundred and Montego last month at its Chicago assembly plant. The vehicles will go on sale by early September, along with the 2005 Ford Freestyle sport wagon, also assembled in Chicago.
Ford Freestyle
The three-row Freestyle will start at $25,595, including destination, for a fwd model. Awd models begin at $27,295, including destination.
Incentives at launch for the three models haven’t been determined, but they will be modest, Ford officials said. Ford also plans to limit fleet sales of the cars to corporate and government buyers.
The Five Hundred, Montego and Freestyle are all based on Ford’s Volvo-derived D3 platform. Ford plans to build about 280,000 units at the Chicago plant. They are part of Ford’s multinameplate approach to eventually replace the Ford Taurus.
Mercury also announced pricing of the 2005 Mariner sport wagon, a derivative of the Ford Escape. The Mariner will start at $21,995, including destination, for a fwd model. An awd Mariner starts at $23,745.
