well i drive a 2001 focus zx3. got basic bolt ons. but when i drive it hard and when ishift into 3rd it makes this grindin noise but it doesnt do it when idrive normally. i though maybe it was just my driving but every one else that has driven it has has the same problem. it doesnt appear to be the cluch so does anone have any other suggestions as to what it might be?

If you rely on the snychros when you shift that may be your problem.

to my understanding all focuses do it mine does it still and i just got a brand new transmission all my friends that have focuses also have the same problem when i race people think i go back into 1st gear "well they say that thats what it looks like" but if im not racing than u can see the full up right up to 3rd... u dont wanna wast that valuble time going up right up ud rather go up and slide it in so u hit the corner but thats what me and friends think =X hope u understood all that im real tired rite now lol later
