Ford Vs Holden motor show
Hey fellow ford enthusiasts,
Did anyone go to the Ford Vs Holden Motor show, held about a month ago at Jeff's Shed? I went hoping to gain some inspiration for what could be done to my EA, by seeing what had been done to others. When I got there, I cruised around the Holden's, looking at about 10 VL's, couple VR's and VS's, thrown in a couple of HSV's and Walkinshaws. Not a bad turn out on the Holden side of the debate. Big V8's with enough stereo amp power to run a third world country. Some of the Holden's weren't bad, but I still was keen to check out the Ford enthusiast's mad machines.
Walking across the grounds to the ford side of the show I was shocked to see a piss poor attempt. All that I saw was about 5 or 6 AU XR8's a couple of EL XR6's and only 2 EB's. I can only remember one ute with a half decent sound system. No V8's earlier than the AU, no EB or EL GT's and the biggest shock- not a single EA.
Even the other day, wen't into Autobarn in Ringwood and saw a V8 VL with a decent enough sound system. Sometimes it feel's as though that ford is reluctant to encourage young enthusiast's to take a bit of pride in the ol' blue oval, and really provide something to take it upto those Holden VK - VL - VN shitboxes. Where is the support for non XR or AU falcon fans who have had the stigma that "Ford is shit!" branded on them from Holden, and holden wanna-be drivers. Come on Ford- release the twin-cam turbo charged AV falcon 6, and lets see those wankers eat their words as their highly modded VL's are left at the lights.
