Went to heathcote yesterday with a few other cars and had a littly bbq up there, wasnt to bad weather was abit hot though

So i decieded i was gona ran the ef down the qtr and see what itll ran. Had a total of about 10 passes. Was i decapointed it ran a 16.01 @ 88mph with a 2.3 60ft. i couldnt get it to crack into the 15's. it ran a constant 16.01-16.12 all day.


its a fresh engine, fresh auto i think i may have to get it dynoed and see what power it makes maybe even a computer.

Sounds like with the work you've put into it you should be running easy 15's, i woulda thought. Something suss?

thats what i throught 15's easy. not really sure what to check thats why i wanna get it on the dyno. im thinking maybe needs a fuel pressure reg and put the fuel up abit

stage 2 shift kit dude pls pm me id love to know what that cost and how the auto feels now.

for the amount of work with 4:11's mid 15's would be easy for sure, do u have exhaust work as well? if so then something is drasticly wrong.

there was 2 types of of shift kits one was like 300 fitted and the other about 400. the one 400 just shifts harder and u feel it sometimes it just shifts to hard i ended up goin back to the guy and he played around with it for abit and now its better,
just wait till u get the thing serviced and tell them to put a shift kit in.

yeh i also got extractors and 2.5" exhaust........i even ran it with 15's to get a better time

Just for comparison:
I was there and i ran a 15.2@91.5mph, hot with a head wind and very slippery track.
From talking to other people I think times were being pushed back by at least half a second due to the conditions.
My brother was there too and his best run was a 15.8 (his got an XC 302 with about 160rwkw, 9" diff and 2500 stall).

frdpwr: have you found you run better times with 17" mags?

i swapped from 18" back down to 17" and found better acceleration and a quicker revving engine, resulting in a lower time ...

i took the 18"s of and put 15's on it so itll ran a better time. it has heaps better acelleration with the 15's for sure

Your 60ft's tell the story. You need more traction. So better tyres are in order. If you haven't got LSD that would be the first thing you need to do.

In the meantime don't push as hard on the pedal when you take off.

wheel spin i wish, it didnt even brack traction. yeh its got a locker and 4'11's
maybe it was the heat!
