I've not raced at WSID since it opened and was wondering what to expect ET wise compared to the old strip next door at the racetrack. Hopefully I will be able to leave my foot off the brake on the line and not have the car roll back like it used too at the Creek!
Does anyone have any times from the same car using the same setup at both tracks?
EC start line was dead flat, none of my cars or bikes ever rolled back and nor did anyone elses that I know of. It wouldn't be ANDRA sanctioned if it wasn't.
WSID start line appears to have more traction, though I don't have the same car to compare.

What's that?..... Did I hear you say TQE power?
I can't compare directly as the car got modded so going from 16.8 to 15.6 doesn't tell the story about the track but I would say the WSID strip is very good. Its new flat and sticky with all the latest timing gear. What more do you want? A couple of tenths like everyone else! Well maybe if a good launch is what you need to do it WSID will help I think.

My experiences would say otherwise. I used to pray for the left lane as when in the right I would often have the car roll back slowly as I was staged. Made it tough to launch cleanly as I'd have to keep my right foot on the brake until the green lit. Wasn't enough of a slope that an auto or bike with the rider's foot on the ground would have a problem.
Certainly sounds promising at the new track. I'll have to go to watch to get an idea of the layout. How quick are the 200 spots filling up lately? Will I have a problem getting in to race if I don't get there before 6:30pm?
I went last week & there wasn't many people I had a dozen runs & spent alot of time in the stands & talking to friends & left before 9 I did get there early tho more people showed up later but they get through people much quicker at WSID then they did next door.
e/c track climbed 13ft from start to finish.
wsid is dead flat, world class track, just need better officals......some....
EC was also a world class track. An incline of 20ft is the limit for it to be ANDRA sanctioned.
An incline of 13ft per 1320ft will have almost no effect on times, start line grip is far more important. Though EC also had a concrete launch pad which had very good grip.
EC's big problem was in it's last years it wasn't maintained because there were only street meets.
Personally I find the officials far better at WSID than EC ever had.

We did most of our racing at EC early to mid 90's, so I'd assume many officials changed.
