ok, listen up, lastnight i was beaten by a VC, whats goin on? I think it was caz i was riding the clutch, uphill too. For shame, I'm so ashamed of myself. Guyz tel us, whats the proper way to kick ass in a manual.
You have a manual Falcon, EA? and you were beaten by a VC Commodore. Oh My God! Mate, you've seriously got to learn to drive that thing. Either that or there is something wrong with your car.
umm is ur car only running on 3cyl or something jesus, vc have got the same kw output of a EXCEL and there a bigger car please learn how to drive or get ur car repared, if a VC is a threat i dont know what ur doing but it must be terrably worng, well unless its a worked V8 u were racing?? but if it was a 202 i used to own a VK with EFI and id be left standing if an 3 speed ea raced me:dead:

2. Watch the traffic lights like a hawk
3. dont give it too much gas or let the clutch out too fast otherwise you will get wheelspin and be left at the lights smoking them up
4. change gears at the engines peak torque curve ( or until it feels it aint going any faster no matter how hard you push it )
5. execute smooth but very quick gear changes and GET OUT OF FIRST AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN!
if you dont beat a VC after following this simple proceedure....somethings wrong with your car!

Yeah, I used to own an EA 5 speed, I always found that short changing first was always a good idea.... Falcons and first gear arent compatible for a quick getaway.... If it was no the flat or a down hill slope, I always started in second, the torque of the worked engine always launched my car without a problem, leaving me with a nice long tall gear-change-less run thru to about 80.
Still... losing to a VC.... lol! Check the head gasket.

How much boost?
I was dragged off today by a Magna Sports and I lost :(
Well at first I didn't even know he was trying to drag me, but then when he smoked his tyres a bit I gunned it but by that time he was miles in front. Also I had my air conditioner on and seems to drain heaps of power from my car when it's on? Is that normal or what. I'll be putting in a properly working 4 speed automatic on the weekend hopefully that will fix some of my acceleration problems as my 3 speed is stuffed(vibrates at idle)
my 5 speed is pretty quick...if i get my lauch revs right...she takes off good...i've taken VL commodores...will be racing 2002 Integra type R next weekend...rolling highway....and my mates gtir....just to see what it will go like against them...also a bunch of other cars with us i might try....
Yes it is normal for air conditioning to drain a few kw's.
With the air pump engaged the engine has to deal with the extra load hence less power at the right foot and also more fuel.
When dragging always have air con and any other electrical gear off.

I can vouch for the short shifting first, the first gear is very short neway, but enuff to get u off the line and then pull second HARD, i find that is the best way, ever since i got my manual box in i cant find anyone to run me!!!!!
