Hi! I need to change my discs and i cant seem to be able to remove the hub nut which holds the disc in place. its a 3cm nut which appears to be screwed on to the axle, but there is a lip that keeps them in line,

Can anyone help a newbie?!!!!

The big nut in the center of the hub has nothing to do with the discs. It only holds the driveshaft to the hub. Don't touch it. To remove the disc you need to remove the caliper assembly only (2 bolts). Sometimes the discs seize due to heat and rust. If your disc won't budge by hand, try spraying some WD 40 around its inner edge and hitting it with a hammer on the front, in the spaces between the studs. Be careful not to hit the studs as it could cause damage to the threads. cheers

Foot Note:

The caliper securing bolts are a bind to remove - I found a 1/2" socket was a better fit and allowed torx than a 13mm socket. And loads of WD40...
