There's an article here about a worked 460:

The writer reckons that with 535 HP they'll easily be able to get ten second quarter mile times out of a '69 mustang. Does this sound right? It certainly isn't a lot of horsepower considering your aiming for 10 seconds.

A genuine 535hp with the torque a big block will produce should make a 10 sec. slip achievable.

Holy Moly thats incredible. So your basically talking not too far from your stock big block (not really too far), can manage around the 10 second mark. I've still yet to understand 100% the difference between horsepower and torque but I got a basic idea. I suppose all the torque of the Big Block is what makes it possible. I had a mate who got around 403 kw of power at the wheels on his supercharged 5.0l VP, and was pulling 11.9's. That's like 537 HP at the wheels imagine what he had at the engine. That's why I was telling him I thought he could be pulling quicker times.

Centrifically blown RWHP is a bad comparison. They make no horsepower for 3/4 of their power band.
