It's not a GT (I wish). I can provide VIN if any help...
We figured that out CoupeCruiser09 thanks.
All we can find out for you is that two GTs were produced in this colour. There are unfortunately no records kept of the colour breakdown of non GTs of this era :( Sorry but it seems you have hit a dead end.
FORD only kept # for the GT's all others including Fairmonts were not logged.
Never mind that, they look and go the same as nobody can see through a closed bonnet to inspect the aluminium plates anyway.
The build sheet of the car was left under the pasengerseat carpet & sound deadning material, so if this has not been touched then herein lays your chance, if you did not get your car from the original owner

No luck under new carpet (as expected), however, previous owner is sending me old paperwork (?) he has fished out including original sales docket. Hopefully some good info there.....
Cheers

that was a fine looking colour especially with the gold wheels. by the way the chrome bumpers were part of the protection pack, code 04, which included overiders and bump strip up the side. black out on the bonnet was code 55. oddly this code was used as a "delete blackout" on xa bonnets.

Thanks (re; colour). I was a bit unsure at first, but the more I've delved into the history of the Moffat car and time spent glaring at mine I've grown to love it. The respray job isn't perfect to spec, so would like to eventually get it as close as possible to the original (without numbers and sponsors). Would also like to get some fatter rubber in the Minilite style as on the Moffat car $$$$$$$$
Stick to tidying up the little things for now! The car came with a pair of Ford original rear quarter brake flutes, already colour matched to the car, but can't decide whether or not to install them (re; originality and non-GT). Any thoughts out there?

personally i prefer originality, or period correct mods. the street machine look on classics dosn't do it for me at all. it dosn't have to be a gt to have the flutes on, for example jg specials. your car being what it is, i would get it as close to what the dealer had as possible.
Mate that is an awesome find, a genuine Moffat promo car. I think the colour scheme looks great, it is similar to the Alan Mann racing cars in the UK (I think). Good luck with finding the info & bringing it back to spec. It would look great on gold Minilites with big rubber, speak to the guys racing in Group Nc as a lot of them use these wheels in 15x8 & may be able to point you in the direction of a cheap set.
