Need new front spoiler. Will likely go for single piece bib or two piece to emulate Moffat appearance, any thoughts?

Apparantly yhe original rear Ford spoilers on earlier GTs were fibreglass. Did this also apply for later XA/XB wings?

If so my alluminium spoiler must have been a dealer option?

By the way cruiser, where did you find the option codes for your coupe on the net? (03 for seat belts, 1 for power steering ect.) also where do these numbers sit on the ID plate? Is that all the numbers on the bottom of the first ID plate for XB's?

Numbers came from Ford via GT Historian (Mark) at the Falcon GT Club of Australia. Numbers not on ID Plate, but I guess vehicle number and dealer number must direct them to the original order. I bought some parts off Mark and he showed an interest in the history of the car and was able to determine that 2 GTs were produced in the same paint code as previously discussed in this thread.

I think all the numbers on the first compliance plate refer to the various Australian construction, safety and emmissions codes used in production of vehicle.

Re: 1975 XB Falcon Coupe - (Moffat Racing)

Well, it's official. There is another Y422 coupe out there (see attached).

Sucker4Coupes informs me that it's a 302, 4sp, GS optioned etc... He is sending a PM with the compliance details so we can trace the dealer code etc...

I am currently on the lookout for a Holley 465cfm - vac sec - auto choke carbie to try on my car. Anyone had any experience with similar set up?

Re: 1975 XB Falcon Coupe - (Moffat Racing)

I've had a 465 Holley and had no problems with it and is a good size carb for the 302.
A 500 cfm Edelbrock carb is another good one.

My current one has had it and needs a rebuild, for now, I'm gonna put a 650 dp on it which I had laying around...should be interesting.

Cleaned the existing 2-barrel carbie and the car is going heaps better. Will likely hold off replacing for a while until I work out exactly what I want for full rebuild (i.e. unleaded conversion, twin exhaust etc...)

How did the 650 go JG33?

Also, can anyone recommend a good product and/or method for restoring-detailing the the outer plastic dash surround (rough surfaced)?

I had a 465 on an xb 302 although from memory it was mechanical secondary and found it excellent. The improvement over the two barrel was unbelieveable.
When I stroked the engine I found it a little lacking at higher revs tho.
