Hey guys, looking at another coupe - one thing doesnt add up with the codes though:

shes a JG65PS*****K = Falcon 500 coupe March 74' build date

Eng - K = 351 2V
Trans - R = Column shift Auto
Paint - J = going by my codes is XA Calypso Green doesnt match XB codes
Trim - S = Saddle

Since it is an earlyish XB build what are the posibilities that the paint code given is correct, maybe mistaken for U? Is it possible that they were still using XA colours?

Also would be interested to know how many coupes there may be out there with the 351/column shift combo - I wouldnt think there would be many?

its possible - i have seen this in some cases....although i would have thought they would have had it sorted by march 74, given that xb's kicked off in late 73..but you never know.

What is the original color of the coupe you are looking at, is it calypso..any signs of the original paintwork anywhere??

Just got some pics back finally - it would seem that the owner stuffed up his paint code - pretty easy to do considering the quality of some of the stampings - its paint code "U" burnt orange.

Shes only half complete though as you can see by the pic - no engine but.....

The same letter can also stand for a completely different colour from one model to the next. eg: Code V = Apollo Blue for an XB and Emerald Green for an XC. I think it is something else again for an XA????
