Does anybody know wheter the inertia seat belts for a xb coupe is serviceable? Mine seems to be not retracting all the way and it is a matter of time before the buckle damages the paintwork when i shut the door. Any suggestions or contacts would be appreciated.

Are you looking to fix or replace them with new ones?

Would love new ones but would be very hard to find genuine.Would not consider repro ones as the car is a restored JGS with everything stock standard with original parts.
Would look at used belts in a1 condition or is there anyone out there who fixes these things.

i ahve an xc coupe an i would be keen to get at least one longer belt so its fits easyier lol

There's a company that advertises in restored cars that claim to be able to repair seatbelts - I'll have a look at home and post the contact details.

there was a thread on this a while back and one fella found someone in Vic. who does rewebbing ADR approved.
i'd go to a wrecker and get another belt spool out of a falcon/fairlane and get it rewebbed.

That fella was me. He does rewebs, but the mechanisms have to be in good nic. I can post pics of the reweb if anyone wants it.

clark rubber sell webbing by the meter so i spos eu could do it your self or get some one that can use a sewing machine to do it

The fellow that i talked to used to work at fords in the seat belt ( department) for thirty years or something like that . He said that he does the belts to origional factory specs with fitting instructions for about $120 a side,I know most people like factory maybe this is close to it?
