Can anyone explain or point me to a site which details the differences between these cars.

I would like to know what difference there was in the interior/exterior.

cause they all seem pretty much the same

off the top off my head, there was some stuff at eafalcon (link being http://www.eafalcon.com/eseries/spot...ence/index.htm) outlining differences etc, but its half past 2 in the morning so thats the best i can come up with

ED GLI.....is the base model, would not have come standard with aircon.
ED Futura...probably the addition of aircon and the name.
ED GLI Classic...air con, alloy wheels and pin stripping{looks good}.
ED Fairmont....velour interior, alloys, air and Climate control{guess}...+badge factor.

You need to be careful when paying 4-5500 for a 93 Fairmont, when a 97 EL can be bought for 8000....the EL is the better value IMO..4 yrs newer, faster and better handling, probably more comfortable.

EB2 and ED's are well regarded by mechanics, but they are getting on in age now, so have them checked thoroughly.

Futura gained ABS, Cruise, Full Instrumentation and upgraded Sound, Colour coded mirrors and different wheel trim.

The 'Classic' was a run-out special type pack to use up all the EA-ED accessories before the EF came out and was available on both Gli and Futura. It included alloys wheels (of varying descriptions - including the yet unseen EF style when they ran out out everything else), free air (it was still an option) decals (woopee) and maybe a few other bits & pieces. As an example mine (Gli Classic) also has the XR red trim strip but plenty don't, I suspect it was late in the series as it originally had the EF style alloys.

Fairmont had plusher trim, different wheels, electric glass and so on.

These days I'd be basing a purchasing decision on condition rather than what they started life with - they all ran down the same assembly line so are all basically the same.
