A friend of mine is about to do this to his XB coupe. He purchased an XB wagon with factory air and is going to transfer all the parts to the coupe and cut the 2 extra vent holes into his dash.Other models would probably have different ducting.
The didn't do integrated air for the XB they only did under dash systems. And no the XC stuff will not fit. The back of the dash in the XB is totally different, the XC stuff will not go behind the glove box. It will take some stuffing around. I use to fit this stuff at the dealers.

they may not have been common , but they definately did fit integrated air into some XBs.
i have one in mine that came out of a XB panel van, (not sure if it was original fit to van or not ) and about the same time as i changed it over another mate crashed his XB GS and ofered me the factory air from it . i took some of the parts but left the main unit. ( i wish now that i had taken the lot )

Factory integrated air con was indeed an option for both the xa and xb model range. check the brochures.....I am fitting one into my car presently also, have it all apart now fixing it all up. The xc falcon ac unit is nearly the same one, the heater actuator and control arm is on top instead of underneath. both will fit straight up, as have had both fitted to mine, the xa xb ducts will also fit the xc unit. I have allready done all this an the xc type fits behind the xa dash fine as long as u have the correct air con glove box liner.
That bein said the zh fairlane unit is totally diffrent, so bewary of this.
If u want more detailed info, drop me a pm, an i will answer any of your quessies.
can anyone help with info on installing Factory air to XB coupe - does XC fit or newer models, any info will do
XA and B is the same. XC shares many parts but you would have to search out the xb ducts, glove box and you also need to replace the complete left hand side of the dash.and the air/ heat control panel. Your best bet is to find a doner XA/B or ZF/G. If you get a Fairline you can fit your XB Falcon dash suround to the left half of the dash.
There is a lot of harware (nuts, bolts, pulleys etc) so your better of with a compete car. You also need a 1inch hole saw to cut some holes in the fire wall, these are pre marked with a dimple, as well as drill some holes.
I have done this conversion many times to XAs, XBs, XCs and XDs. Dont hesitate to ask for help.
BTW, where are you?

Thanks all foryour info - sorry not replying too quick, but cruising round tassie with family!! - they wouldnt let me bring the coupe because of no AC - will hunt around for donor car - thanks again - will post some info on car when back on the mainland in couple weeks - basics 74 GT replica Yellow Blaze - 95% condition
When you go this conversion ,keep in mind you will be running R134A refigerant where the original systems used R12. You will need to get a new TX valve which is calibrated for 134A,a new receiver -dryer which you would anyway to suit and also the condensor s are a different arrangement also so you may want to get new.All the o'rings used when you connect everything up will be the green type ones suitable also.
