Falcon XR8 AU2 surge

My vehicle is experiencing a surge when I accelerate thru the gears. Searched the forum and found no similar issues - so have posted new thread

It is more predominant at about 1800rpm - but gradually gets less noticeable above 2500

I am unsure if it is due to bad fuel - but I suspect I have grit/grim in the fuel system and possibly clogged up filters, injectors etc

Thinking of checking the fuel pressure and going thru all the filters etc.

Had the ecc tested (friendly Ford Engineers NGS tester) gave no fault codes

Am I on the right track - is there an order I should tackle likely to least likely components to fix this problem.

I now use higher octane fuel (98) ilo 95 to see if that helps - but I guess cleaning is probably the better alternative

Car has done 160,000kms - Manual gearbox

Thinking if I need to clean the injectors - there must be a reverse flush method and getting them to pulse open/shut - Is this still whats done?

ANy help would be appreciated

You might have more luck posting this on the Australian Falcons section rather than the classic section.
