Hi all

Got my xc ute with a 351w in it and ive got my XE. The XE unfortunately got yellow stickered on the weekend and when i took it over the pits to see the damage they said " Nah.. its f$*ked!" Pitty cause id just fixed it up a bit and it was pretty nice to drive.

Anyway i'm gonna wreck the XE and was wondering if i could take the ps out of the XE and fit it to the XC. Ive been told theres no difference in the X series between 6 and 8 cyclinders ps units. But what will i have to adapt it to suit the windsor. Like mounting brakets etc

Also does anyone know of a how to web tutorial or something. Is it a hard job?

Steering box and lines will all bolt up.It's best to remove the xc column and slide the steering shaft up a little to cover the extra length of the P/S box.If the XE was 6 you really need to get a bracket to suit the 8 and a different pulley but the rest of the pump is the same

A guy i was talking to the other day told me that the ps bracket from a clevo is the same as the one on a windsor. He also said that the fronts, pullies waterpumps etc of a clevo can be put onto a windsor and by doing this it will make it cross flow as well. is this right or wrong?

Waterpump won't interchange.
The best p/s pump conversion is the pump from an EA/EB 6pot...providing you don't have air conditioning.

By cuting a small section of the 3.9 bracket away, you can make it stand vertical, which makes for super easy filling..........then again, the one i hve done on a clevo does have air.

I can take a pic for you, but it'll take a few days to remember.

yeah a photo would be fantastic. So your saying an EA 6 cyc pump and bracket will fit with some work. what about the lines and the steering box? i was gonna source some from an xf but with the ea pump what do you need?

nah the xe is gone now so i will get which ever pump is best/ easiest
