My GS ute has all the fruit of a GS but the letter from ford does not say GS,
the letter confirms K engine L trans sports consul full carpets bucket seats ect.ect. but does not state GS Pack,I know people who have known this ute from new and state it has always looked the same
The service book does'nt state GS either only falcon 500 as all utes were
Did ford have a geniume GS ute or did the dealers stripe tme up
when u called ford, did they give you the option codes? what options did they tell you? just give me the numbers, not fords interpretation of them. They quite often get them wrong.
Should have option 48, gs rally pack. Rally pack was only available on falc 500 utility.

Went and got the letter You are right donny no option 48 *** The options are 03,05,06,10,14,19,32,39,40,45,56,65,67,71( Looks like Lotto Numbers)
Its pretty easy to mock up a GS because the parts are easily added.
Allot of GS's forsale these days seem to be mockups because they can ask more for the car and its difficult to check. Yep option 48 is GS, without it means unfortunately it didint come with that option..
I wouldn't worry about it though, the K & L engine/trans code is what's rare!
Option 48 could have been ordered on any 6cyl or V8 Falcon or fairmont.

Yes This is what I feared, it must have been dealership altered as it has the Dash,Steering Wheel,Bonnet Latches,,Iam the third owner the second owner says this is how he bought it but knew it from new and it always looked the same. The dealership is now closed down and the first owner has gone to the big garage in the sky,it does have option 56 Driving Lights one member said Spotlights were not part of gs Pack "Strange" so as you say No 48 No GS

Don't get too worried about the 48 missing. Ford's records were not all that great. The more owners you talk too, the more you will hear about poorly documented options from Ford. My car was a Fairmont GS and although it had the Option 48 listed it did not have the factory vinyl roof listed. Yet, when we soda blasted the 1/8" of bog off the car, there were the ground down studs from the trim. We compared them to a car that we know had a factory top, not dealer installed, and the trim holes were in the same places.....pretty sure it was factory after that as the dealer jobs were often very different than the factory tops.
