Anyone from this forum going to the GT nats in March? As far as I know entries are closed (or now require a late fee) so we should all be booked in by now :)

It would be good to catch up with anyone going as its always a great event.

How are they done? do they seriously involve grinding chunks out of the sidewall?

Yes I do grind about 1 mm out of the sidewall
a special red latex rubber paint is then rolled into the grove

aquasquirts were ground the same way at the tyre factory only DEEPER
they had a red rubber insert in the sidewall of the tyre under the black rubber
