Some of you may remember the stock standard black and white GTHO Phase III that was featured in Australian Muscle Car a while back. Pristine condition with only 40,000 miles on it.
The owner bought it from Dean Canto for $140,000.00 eight months ago !
It's reported in The West Australian today that thieves stole it from a locked garage whilst the owner was on holidays. They apparently broke in and stole a heap of jewellery and other stuff, then took off in his Mercedes, only to return three and a half hours later to swap the Benz for the HO !!
Sounds like they just stumbled on it rather than specifically targeted it.
Poor Bugger, I only hope he gets it back in one piece. Surely a car like that would be VERY difficult to move without being identified !!
firstly im sure they will be caught or someone will know if a load of GT parts show up, secondly i hope he insured it for 140k, he may not see his falcon but he wont be out of pocket. Its sad to see anything like this happen.
I can assure you that the entire GT fratenaty is on the look out for this one.
My advice to whoever stole it is to return it discreetly, as you will not be able to sell as much as a horn rim without it raising suspision.

they wouldn't have swapped the benz for a horn falcon... they had brains, and having phase 03 number plates was sort of flashing the fact it was worth $$$$.
they've been caught on camera, although grainy footage, something may come good of it.
it's a real crap world we live in at times.

That's just so f*cked-up when this sort of thing happens to such a nice/rare car. Nobody should be the victim of such a low act. Insured it would be for sure. I'd say the thieves went away in the benz so that they could get some gear/tools to be able to steal the HO (probably chained/bolted down in some way).
Thieves deserve to be shot
