Hi, i just bought an XR Wagon which is in really nice condition and i have no problem getting good insurance for it through places like Vigil and Shannons, but no one wants to insure it if it gets parked on the street.

I was just wondering if anyone knew of an insurance company who was good with old cars like that and still insures (or charges a bit more for) when its parked on the street?

By the way, its a pretty good street im not totally crazy, ive had my current car parked there for the past five years and nothing much has happened to it.

give gio a call, ask them abotu their classic and vintage car cover, only catch is you have to be in a car club.

Wow GIO really were great, full comp up to 8000 for only 304 bucks, and im under 25!

just keep advising them when you do any mods to the car and you will be fine.

Gees thats over $100 cheaper than my Shannons insurance, I'm 35 and only allowed to do 4000Km a year, must have locked garage and immobiliser. Insured for $15000 though in a Western Sydney area where they steal a LOT of cars from railway car parks.

Yeah GIO had no stipulations about where the car is parked or anything...they sounded too good actually, but so long as they're telling the story im just gonna go with it

So what about being a member of a club though? Are you a member Angus? Does this place count?

Hahaha nah this place doesnt count, but im joining up with the GT performance car club in melbourne here for $35 and that means im in a club :D

Its just new with GIO that they've made their vintage and veterans cover available to all cars, not just cars with restricted club registrations. So its pretty new and it really is heaps better than all the other quotes i got from vigil and shannons and everyone else...you'd be hard pressed to find a better policy for such a car.
