My plans for the XA coupe 320 Boss motor

Is anyone currently putting a boss motor in a old car?

I remeber a xy with a 5ltr injected motor with a full Eb interior years ago.

I would love to do this to my car down the track put the boss motor in with a 6 speed manual and full gtp interior inside it and a full brake and susspention upgrade. I no the ba's are starting to get written off and ive seen motors going for like $12000 but thats still way expensive for me. What do you guys reakon? this could be a 5 yr plan if i decide to go ahead. Also id strip my car down and repaint it another colour mabey pearl black with ghost flames through the front 1/4 pannel in a grey colour. I think it would be street machine material once ive finished it

Forget it,
Save your money and buy a BAGT or build a tough 393 cleveland for the coupe.
The 5.4 Modular Boss motor won't fit in the coupes engine bay because its too tall and too wide, its heavier than the cleveland and can't be tuned for big power as cheaply and easily as a cleveland. It also needs a heap of electronics to run it so stick with the good old cleveland is my advice!

Re: My plans for the XA coupe 320 Boss motor

Black would look sick but will kill some of the lines in the car .
I have seen a boss motor and g/box for ten grand out of wrecked car .
I think injected would be great but a pain in the butt to sort out .Remember you will have to run polution gear and everything that comes with the car that the motor comes out of .
I also don't think you can do ghost flames on black as flames are transperent and black and will dominate .

My car will be finished soon enough and one day somewhere along the way I am sure we will catch up somehow Take a look come for a ride see what you like and don't like then go from there .

New school stuff is cool but all the stuff you need to run it will be a pain but if you could pull it of then it would rock
You should take a look at USA sites on mustang motors g/boxes and their set ups as this would be a better and cheaper way to go .

Go find a decent clevo , the modular will fit ( I have helped with such an install) but its difficult and the motor is better suited to a different style of car , one of the American places will provide a reco 300hp clevo for under 4k
and its a drop in . ..

Yep, what he said, not to mention a 393 Clevo would eat a 290 Boss for dinner.

Do the same mods to the 290 boss motor that you would do to the 393c, and i think you'll find the 290 will do the eating

um thats not right theres a huge price difference mate also with performance

A 393 $10000 that would be a pretty worked motor all the good stuff close to 800hp

Boss motor $10 000 out of a wreak still 320 kw i dont no what that is in hp but its ganna cost more to get the boss to have the same hp as the clevo

Exactly I think the 393 would be the way to go but boss motor would be cool for the stand out of the crowd value.
800hp 393 now thats good .
Why not go all out and twin turbo the 393 .This is only the plan stage so plan big then let reality kick in later when pricing

Hey, i said do the same mods, eg: headwork, cams, fuel management, aftermarket everything and so on. I didn't mention dollars.
And $10000 dollars, 800hp 393c. That is a bit of a wild dream isn't it. I'll take 2 of them if you can supply me at that price n/a.
Look at what Chis on the other forum has done with a "260" boss BA. It is 2 tonne, and does 12.6 on an "untoched" motor, other than a tune. Don't get me wrong, i love clevelands just as much as anyone here, but i give credit where it is due, and keep openminded.
