I would be proud if:

a) the box didn't cost me lots of $ a short time ago
b) the box wasn't only 5000k's old
c) I was pushing hard or racing
d) I didn't just spend $2500 on engine repair/accessories (which I still have to pay back)

Unfortunately it popped @ light throttle @ 80-90kph and locked the rear tyres. I put the car into a ditch to avoid on coming traffic.

Oh shite! How much HP were you putting through it? Hope mine hangs together OK, you got me worried now. I have 267HP at the wheels, 3.0:1 9", HD Tailshaft, my box has got to be my weakest link. Its just been rebuilt but nothing fancy just a Transgo Stage 2 kit and 2300 stallie.

It's not the same problem as any of my other builds. All my other builds were failed clutches or bands.

I've just pull the box right down. Internally I found a broken front pump and an input shaft that is a banana. I am begining to think something else locked up to cause the auto to fail? Convertor maybe?

This is whats still in good condition:

clutches, drums, sprag, kevlar bands, valvebody and servo springs.

It looks like I have the parts to make another box. Well everything but a bell housing. It's very temping and is a cheaper option for me especially if I can find a 4500rpm convertor at the right $.

It had 375hp @ the wheels. I think I may have hurt the box prior to it failing and it was just hanging on.

New setup should do 400hp @ the wheels. Well thats were I am heading.

So am I.

The engine looks the part. Just have to wait to find out whether I get my wish. A whole extra 29rwhp shouldn't be too hard. Then the pipes get dropped to see what happens.

This is what the cyl heads look like underneath.
