Mystery Ford:-Engine Number GK 2122C

Any help on this would be appreciated. I have a motor with the following engine number stamped into it:- GK 2122C. It is a Ford 302 2V manual transmission engine manufactured in May 1969 in the US. It was definitely put new into an Australian Ford vehicle....I doubt it was put into a GT Falcon but perhaps a Fairlane???? Any help appreciated.

Re: Mystery Ford:-Engine Number GK 2122C

just remember that the first 10,00 302 windsors were shipped from the states for Aus use and correct me if im wrong but most of the 289's and 302w from xr to xw-zc range were lifted from the mustang production in the states untill the tooling was set up here in Aus.
I think thats the reason that we ended up with mostly cleveland engins (ford usa sold ford aus the tooling cheep)

Not quite! Ford US produced the Cleveland until late 1973 for the 1974 model year. Ford AU was producing Clevelands at Geelong in 1972 so they were using their own tooling.

302w motors of that era had plenty of different prefixes. that is an aussie engine number. 302w's were never made in australia. only fitted here. could be fairlane falcon ute or van. but it's most definetly a 302w. what more could u want. ! cheers
