Rare XB??

Hello ford peoples...i thankyou all in advance for welcoming a Holden man to your site.

I'm here because i am curious about what i consider to be a piece of Ford motoring history sitting in a farm shed (original story i know)

The car is a 1976 XB 351 4-door manual, last one of the assembly line with books with 60,000 km's on the clock, original owner.

Last time i saw it 12 mths ago was covered in a inch of dust with 4 flat tyres.

Just wondering if its a sought after model or not?

Re: Rare XB??

Is it a GT? I guess if it was you'd have said so huh? Still, it is desirable to a degree.

Which state is the car located?

BA XR6 NA Mercury Silver (daily drive)
XC Fairmont Coupe (sunday cruiser)

Welcome A9X!
Even if the car isn't a genuine GT, as long as it's a factory installed 351 that automatically makes it a bit rarer that usual. Low Ks helps too

I'd say if it wasn't a GT it still wouldn't be worth a great deal of money. You would prob. still need to spend a bit of $$$ on it to get it on the street, even with low kms.

Just my opinion though

I'm more then a little curious as to how you/the owner came to the conclusion that this specific car is/was "THE" last one off the assembly line??? (Remembering that the XB is refered to as the most popular falcon ever released - taking into account population & number of registered vehicles)
If it is, and it's in original condition then to the right person, it would be worth something.

Re: Rare XB??

A 351 and a Manual,so being a manual and 351 like XA said if all original could be worth something maybe it's a GT or 500 but low km's top loader,351, it's got my attention, got any more detail's.

If it really is a genuine GT it will be collectable. It won't be as collectable if it is only a Fairmont / Falcon 500, but still worth something if it has a factory fitted 351.

Sounds like it is worth looking into all the same.

Hi again...yep it is a geniune GT.

The owner said to me awhile back that he had papers saying that it was the last XB GT 351 to roll of the line or words to that effect.

Colour is black

It's in SA

Sorry cars not mine to sell.

I will hassle my brother-in-law again this year to let me take it out of his parents garage(they own it) and clean it up to see what its full potential is.

Sad thing is its not been out the shed for around 8 yrs.
