Renagate Shifter

The Mr Gasket shifter in my superbird has seen better days. Im looking at installing a Renagate Sequential 4 speed shifter, designed especially for the toploader. The website regagate.com is excellent, and there is also a favourable street machine article you can download off the site.

My question is have any of you guys tried one and how does it perform?

Re: Renagate Shifter

I have not got one but once was thinking of it (now have hurst indy) .
biggest problem was they are designed for the gearboxes not cars and not cars made in aussie .Also I have heard they are pain in the behind on the street but great on the strip

PS. do a search in driveline as this is where I did all my reseach on these two shifters and came up with some really good feed back

I have an Hurst Indy in my XA, it was installed by a mechanic, i don't think he had any trouble doing it, my shifter problems ended after the installation, i recommend it.
I was looking at the V-gate verticle shifter, but they are made for left hand drive cars which moves them too far from the driver, plus a fair bit of floorpan needs to be cut away.

I fitted my hurst indy myself and found that you don't need to use the spacers
you need to bend the selector rods and if you want the shifter in the exact position it was originally in you will need to make a L shape bracket for between the selector and gear stick and you also need to cut a little bit of the floor out
After all that it sounds like a lot but its not that hard .
There maybe a easier way
