Im no ford expert but unless they were actually on a HO that won bathurst i cant see them being worth near that ammount not even if you took a zero off the price tag. I know there is alot of copies arround but they cant be that rare. Im gonna keep an eye on it though to see if someone proves me wrong.

A: Mr Critty73 , These aren't gold plated , they are rare & suit cars worth $200k plus these days so pull your head in & Open your eyes to what the Market puts on parts for $200k plus motor vehicles , If you don't Have a Decent question to Ask DON'T bother .

I don't think the price is too crazy if they end up on a mint HO. It'd be a shame for them to end up on any old car when later globes would do just as well. Just my 2c.

Mmmmm, I would have spent the 8k somewhere else and stuck with my ESP globes. I thought 5k was silly money. Just goes to show how many people out there have money to burn.

Well there you go i stand corrected i guess, but alot of dodgy stuff happens on ebay so im not completly convinced. Also i would love to see what kind of GT a set of $8000 wheels are gonna go on, but in saying that wouldnt putting those wheels on make your GT not original therefore youve just wasted 8 grand, like ive said im no expert but it just seems that way to me. oh well its not my $$$$

The stupid thing is if you look around there are replicas forsale for 10 to 15K from time to time with flat lip globes (and genuine shakers) on them and all you need to do is buy the car swap wheels and resell the car for near to or the same price!
Opps, maybe i should keep that to myself!

I was thinking the same thing last time I was looking on carpoint. There were a couple of XY replicas on there full of "genuine GT parts" (whether they actually were or not is another matter).

Some replicas made in the 80s using NOS stuff may be worth more as parts than as a whole car if this auction is anything to go by.
