hi all i gotta dilema
my xy ute seems to have newer front discs and maybe hubsthan it should have? i think from an xb?? anyway the calipers are girlock so i bought the most common set of pads i could find that fit u.s fords as i was told they should b the same (iv yet to check but they were very cheap) sorry side tracked a bit there!
the problem is at the mo its running 12 slot steels wich as u can imagine are quite thin metal BUT the studs barely have enough thread poking through to get the nuts on safe

they must have been like it for a while but im not happy about it plus i may well swap rims to some torque thrusts or 5 spokes so what else can i get some longer studs from or different hubs?
i have a spares car here its a 72 lincoln continental would any of these parts help? or any modern cars studs??

They're no small centre wheels are they? there were two sizes of centre spindle on XT -XF falcons, the changeover was mid XB. the wheels should seat on the hub with the centre spindle firmly located in the hole in the wheel. I guess it would be possible to force a small centre wheel on far enough to allow a few turns of the wheel nuts. Torq thrusts etc will have a larger diameter centre hole.

Not at the moment - she is still at the panel shop - work seems to have ground to a halt.

After they started work, I found a good article on how to pick a good panel shop - I'll see if I can find it, it has excellent clues on how to spot the shops you DON'T want to send your car to.

i have allways done all my work myself everything engine swaps/bodywork/welding/upholstery/spraying/ and all mechanical stuff brakes etc etc
2 reasons 1 i dont want to pay theyre prices and 2 they cut corners to get the job done to get paid quick + i know some places will,,test drive,, yer pride and joy . no thanks
