Probably not illegal to sell it, but to built up a fake GT and rip someone off with it should be. One would only spend that much money on a sheet of aluminium if thay are going to make some substantial money out of it down the track. They have got to be doing something dodgey. the prices of xy gt's is going through the roof. i guess some lowlifes are trying to cash in on the unsuspecting. say build a dodgy gt for 40k and sell it for 65k. not a bad profit.

Guy's , Someone would have to be pretty stupid to make up a Chassis number & GT details & hope to sell it as a made up car . I don't know anyone that wouldn't get Ford to check the Chassis number against the records to see if the car was actually manufactured by Ford .

The plate I would say will be used on a GT or HO that wouldv'e had it plate Stolen or Misplaced to bring the car back to Full Value . The problem with this is that alot of cars are now on several registers & details recorded on items such as missing ID plates & engine blocks . These morons that think they can get away with it need shooting & will end up being caught out sooner or later .

I wonder if the person bidding was actually legit, as a few ebay accounts have been hijacked in recent times. Might be worthwhile keeping an eye out to see if it reappears on ebay again....

Also look at the seller's I.D Custometch, Custom Etch, Could the plate be custom etched????

Considering the the ID plates are stamped from behind , its not possible to etch it .

I looked up the custometch webside in the states and it said something about "rolling" and "sheetmetal" and "automotive" but Thats about all I could make of it. All the pictures were of plastic bits.
