Re: v5 simmons

$1500 would be a good starting point for a set in reasonable condition with tyres.

Well if you are going to buy them new from Bob Jane's then expect to pay a LOT more then $1500,try around FOUR grand. I paid $3000 new for mine from Tempe Tyres 8inch B45 16" with 245/45 Goodyear Eagle F1s.Oh, and they have polished cantres which are extra as well.

The good years are OK, a little hard on the bumps but a lot of that is to do with the suspension set up. It seems to corner better, but I dont drive it as hard as I used to, dont want to damage my new wheels, lol. There are some pics of the wheels (and car) in my gallery if you want to take a look. They are the latest style B45s, not a big seller these days as everyone seems to go for FRs.

yes mate, i've seen your set up and i think it's great. nice to see something personalised and not doing the "sheep" thing.
i'll be going 16x7 OM's with 225/50. these will fit my XE ESP without any rubbing or mods to the body. the F1's are probably what i'll get. the wheels sound small, i know, but we have crap roads up here and i can rotate front to back to even out the wear.

I agree with your idea of being able to rotate the tyres. I have seen Fords straight out of the showroom that have worn the inside edge of the front tyres out straight away. Good to be able to swap them front to back every 10,000Km.
